Stamp My Card – Loyalty

Six stamps of eight on a coffee card, the last ring drawn as the free one — and a line noting that buying one today leaves you one away.

What this screen does

Six of eight is the position where a loyalty card stops being a card and starts being an obligation. The endowed progress effect is well documented: people who feel they have already advanced are markedly more likely to finish, and a card handed over with two stamps already on it outperforms an empty one with a lower target.

Drawing the eighth ring as the reward rather than a blank slot changes what the viewer is looking at. It is not two more purchases; it is a free coffee with two purchases in front of it.

'Buy one today and you are one away' is the sharpest line here. It reframes today's purchase — which was going to happen anyway for a regular — as progress rather than spending, and it makes the next visit feel nearly inevitable.

'Stamps never expire · one per visit' handles the two things that make loyalty schemes feel rigged: quiet expiry, and rules that prevent you from getting there quickly. Being explicit about both is what makes the card trustworthy enough to bother with.

'Skip the queue · pay in the app' adds a benefit that applies immediately, on this visit, independent of the reward. That matters — a card promising value only at stamp eight has nothing to offer someone today.

Best for

  • Coffee shops, cafés and quick-service food
  • Salons, car washes and any repeat local service
  • Retail loyalty programmes with a punch or stamp mechanic
  • Re-engagement for customers with a partly filled card — the natural use
  • Local businesses competing with larger chains on familiarity rather than price

Making it yours

  • Set the target where the maths works for your margins — eight to ten is typical for coffee.
  • Start the viewer partway. An empty card is measurably less motivating than one already begun.
  • Use your own branding and stamp artwork; this card is small and identity carries it.
  • State the real rules on expiry and stamps per visit, and keep them generous if you can.
  • Name a same-day benefit alongside the reward.
  • The pattern suits any counted repeat purchase — classes, washes, deliveries, servicing.

Templates are a starting point, not a constraint. The documentation walks through changing one into your own ad and exporting it.
