Sit Today – Month Grid
Twenty-two days out of twenty-four in March, two missed and named — and the explicit reassurance that the month still counts.
What this screen does
This is the streak card's kinder sibling, and the difference is deliberate. A streak resets to zero on a single miss; a month grid keeps the twenty-two days that happened. For a large part of any habit audience, all-or-nothing framing is precisely what caused them to quit the first time.
'You dropped the 9th and the 16th — the month still counts' is the most important line on the card. It names the failures — which is honest, and the viewer already knows about them — and then immediately refuses to treat them as disqualifying. Being seen and forgiven in one sentence is a strong reason to return to a product.
'Sit for 10 minutes today and March stays at 92%' gives a precise, small action with a precise, visible outcome. Not 'keep going' but exactly what to do and exactly what it preserves.
'No streak shaming · Skip days guilt-free' states the product's philosophy outright. It is a positioning line as much as a reassurance, and it is aimed squarely at people who have bounced off a more punishing competitor.
The grid itself carries the argument without text — twenty-two filled squares in a month is a picture of consistency that no sentence conveys as quickly.
Best for
- Meditation, journalling and mindfulness apps
- Habit trackers positioning themselves as gentler than the alternatives
- Fitness and wellness products with a monthly rather than daily rhythm
- Win-back campaigns for users who lapsed after breaking a streak — the ideal use of this card
- Audiences who have quit a competitor over its punishing streak mechanics
Making it yours
- Use your own habit and time unit — sessions, workouts, entries, practices.
- Keep a couple of days missed. A perfect month is unrelatable and removes the forgiveness the card is built on.
- Set the completion percentage high enough to feel like success rather than a warning.
- Match the daily commitment to reality; a ten-minute claim against a thirty-minute session will not survive first contact.
- Keep the no-shaming line only if your product genuinely behaves that way — this is a positioning claim users will test.
- Consider this card instead of the streak one for any audience likely to have failed before.
